The Story

From DFW to Houston. From agent
to institution.

I got my real estate license 21 years ago. I didn't come from money. I didn't have a mentor. I figured it out the hard way — and I promised myself that if I ever had the chance, I'd make the path easier for the next person.

I moved from Dallas to Houston to take a coaching position. Opened my own brokerage in 2019 and grew it to 85+ agents. Became regional broker at EXP Realty. And then I willfully stepped down — because the school I wished existed when I started didn't exist. So I built it.

Modern Agent Institute isn't just a real estate school. It's a second chance for formerly incarcerated individuals. A first chance for high school students. A better chance for career changers. And a serious launchpad for anyone ready to build a business, not just pass a test.

The Journey

21 years of building.

2003
Licensed as a real estate agent in Texas. Started from scratch with no mentor and no connections.
2009
Earned broker license. Began investing in properties alongside active sales.
2019
Moved to Houston. Opened own brokerage and began building a team from the ground up.
2022
Team grew to 85+ agents. One of the fastest-growing independent brokerages in Houston.
2023
Moved team to EXP Realty. Built The Modern Agent Collective (The MAC) with 38 agents.
2024
Appointed regional broker for EXP Realty’s coastal region.
2025
Willfully stepped down from EXP to open Modern Agent Institute — Texas’s first Black-female-owned full-service real estate school.
